Large Area Search Training

"Large Area Search"
Searching large open areas was the topic of this week's training... Using the crawl, walk, run model, crews went over different means and methods for searching these types of areas. Using pre-built search ropes and various other adjuncts crews were able to cover large areas in teams of 4, all the while staying oriented to each other and their location within the building. Ashville Fire Units were dispatched @11:53 hrs to a reported Brush Fire along Ronan Drive in Gallitzin Twp., Engine and Rescue 60 responded. Firefighters arrived to a fast moving field fire endangering a residence. 60 Assistant (Racz) assumed Command, assigning 60 Captain (Malloy) to operations.
