“Busy Night”

Our Volunteers answered 17 emergency dispatches in a 10 hour period Friday evening as a winter storm blasted the area.
Responding into 5 different municipalities for calls ranging from auto accidents, poles and wires down along with multiple trees blocking roadways.
This left much of the area without electricity.
Compounding the situation the storm knocked out a portion of emergency radio communications with the 911 system.
To combat the situation Cambria County Department of Emergency Services dispatched a Command Truck (mobile 911) staffed with a dispatcher and a member from the EMA team to the Ashville fire station to assist with communications in the North of the County.

With the storm lingering into today, PLEASE avoid down utility lines, assume they are all energized and DON’T run portable generators indoors !
