Rescue 60 was dispatched @09:30 hrs Monday for a commercial vehicle accident on the 3100 block of Gallitzin Road ( Rt 53 near kid Long Road) in Gallitzin Township.
Arriving on scene the crew encountered a refrigerated box truck had left the roadway and overturned.
Assistant Chief Seese with command, found the driver to be uninjured, and all fluids were contained.
The rescue crew assisted with traffic control until Weakland‘s towing service arrived.
The truck was loaded with ICE CREAM and because of the weight and damage to the truck it had to be unloaded before it could be up righted.
We then assisted with removing the cargo, the highway reopened after the truck was removed.
A special shout out to Weakland‘s Wreckers for the quick deployment of resources. They were able to provide equipment and manpower to offload the product.
ICE CREAM IS EVERYONE’S FAVORITE !
Not exactly... Did you know that ice-cream can be hazardous to waterways because it contains high concentrations of fats and proteins that act as pollutants, causing damage to aquatic environments...
Thanks to Penndot for assisting with traffic
