“ON THIS DAY”
April 24, 1950

It was on this day 73 years ago that a small group of folks, from a small town were granted a Charter by the courts of Cambria County thus began the
Ashville Volunteer Fire Company #1.
With assets listed as a fire engine (valued) at $400 and $200 cash on hand. These men began with determination and a dream. Taking an oath to protect and serve the people of the Ashville area and beyond to the best of their ability.
With in one year the company built the first fire station on the backs of the members, raised enough money to by a used Seagrave engine for $5005.00 and within the first 8 years built our recreation hall and bought a brand new Seagrave engine.

That dream and determination has never faltered and continues yet today. We are still a group of folks from a small town who work very hard to fulfill our commitment to protect and serve. We have grown by leaps and bounds, our assets would be beyond belief of those founding members.

Here are some pictures through the years to enjoy!
